Nepal School Project

The Sister Schools Club of La Jolla High School is helping improve educational opportunities for children high atop the Himalayan mountains in three remote, impoverished villages in Nepal.  The La Jolla SSSD Club has successfully raised adequate funds in concert with the

International Community Foundation to transform three poorly equipped, dilapidated structures into three safe and fully equipped primary schools.

Uganda Education Project

An exciting and dramatic expansion of the Uganda Education Project is being kicked off in February 2008.   Sister Schools Club of La Jolla High School has successfully been supporting 24 students in an area of the world where the fear of abduction is an everyday preoccupation.   Fund raising will pay for school tuition, uniforms, food, and school supplies.   This school-wide project has an intention of doubling its efforts by partnering with Muirlands Middle School.   This project will enable the children of war-ravaged Northern Uganda an education until graduation and a hope for their future.

Afghanistan Project

Produced through a grant to the Friendship Though Education (www.friendshipthrougheducation.org) from the U.S.Department of Education, Office of Elementary & Secondary School Education.

Afghanistan Tree Project (In conjuction with International Foundation of Hope):

The past decade of violence and strife in Afghanistan has left the cities and countryside bare of trees. Sister Schools of San Diego is currently accepting donations toward the planting of trees in Afganistan, particularly in the schools there. Click here to find out how to get involved.
